Its hard to find anyone who’s not busy these days. All of us are in a hurry to organize our lives and try to fulfill our roles as best as we can. With all this complexity in our lives, we crave simplify. Today, we’ll be discussing how you can achieve making simpler and more effective presentations for your audiences.
Why Simple Works?
Simple messages attract people’s attention and fuel curiosity. The simpler the information, the more people it will reach. This is because people try to understand difficult topics if they can understand them. Which takes us to our next point.
Use Simple Language
The basics of making a readable presentation consists of using understandable words. Text for a presentation is used for communication purposes. So, we should make sure to write it in a conversational style. This means that you should avoid using jargon, difficult vocabulary, and running sentences.
Remember, this presentation is for everyone in your audience.
Use Simple Numbers
There is no point in presenting numbers if people in your audience won’t be able to understand them. Some presenters make the mistake of putting way too much data in their slides. This is not only off-putting for those who are new to it, but its also confusing to people who try to read it in the small amount of time they have.
So, avoid showing too many numbers on any slide. Only share numbers that really count towards the main point. And, make the purpose of using those numbers very clear on every graph and table.
Simplicity is Your Job
Remember that your job as a presenter is to take something that is otherwise complicated, and explain it to many people in a way that is easier for everyone to understand. Therefore, simplicity is your best friend when making and delivering presentations. The more they understand, the more you will be regarded as a good presenter.
